Business Development Manager

Tiger Systems is moving into a key growth stage in its development and is now looking for a Business Development Manager to help fuel and share in that growth. This is a vital role within our rapidly growing business, delivering client growth through sales and marketing performance improvement. The role will suit an ambitious, tech-savvy, high energy candidate with an established business development career to date and a clear track record of service sales performance. The role is permanent, full time and based in Cheltenham.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research for prospects based upon clearly identified criteria.
  • Qualify prospects based upon their needs, marketing approach, their size, budget and market segment.
  • Engage prospects using an agreed business development process.
  • Present technical solutions comfortably and confidently at the proposal stage of the process.
  • Support the needs of clients/potential clients through to agreement at the proposal stage.
  • Developing the value of the existing client base through a continuous search for opportunities to innovate and regular timely customer contact to increase average customer tenure.
  • Developing and managing a personal pipeline using the company's CRM system, be they self-generated leads or as a result of company marketing initiatives.
  • Contributing to product and service development though representation of the voice of the customer in internal meetings.

Key Accountabilities

  • Delivery of agreed quarterly and annual targets in line with the Tiger Systems business development strategy.
  • Growth of revenues against agreed targets and in line with individual client development plans.
  • Delivery of activity-based KPI's including outbound contacts, calls booked and resultant conversion ratios.
  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly internal reporting and team meetings as required.
  • Management of relevant client needs and ongoing support through to proposal agreement.
  • Increasing customer tenure (renewal) and growing customer revenues beyond the initial sale.
  • Personal development & training in line with company programs, standards and protocols.

Experience

Candidates will be expected to demonstrate:
  • A track record of delivering new business and maintaining a pipeline of new and existing prospects including experience in using CRM packages.
  • The ability to forecast sales performance in a reliable and consistently accurate manner.
  • A determined approach to business development. The focus to deliver agreed activity levels.
  • Ability to follow a well-structured sales process and communicate confidently face to face, by video conference, telephone and email.
  • Ability to be articulate, literate, numerate, grammatically accurate and present well.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to work comfortably with software platforms.
  • Independent working as well as in conjunction with senior staff
  • Comfortable independently researching prospects using clear criteria
  • Likeability, with demonstrable relationship development capability and the ability to converse with a diverse cross-section of customers particularly at senior levels in client organisations
  • The skills to be quick-thinking, creative, flexible and adaptable
  • A strong customer orientation; you enjoy it when your customer succeeds.
Also desirable is:
  • Previous experience in technical service or digital marketing sales.
  • Experience of digital marketing platforms and services particularly email marketing.
  • Understanding of best practice CRM principles
  • Experience with HubSpot.

Remuneration Expectations

A basic salary of £25,000 – £30,000 depending on experience. A sales-related uncapped bonus scheme with realistic £40,000+ OTE plus an annual profit share programme based upon overall company performance. A company laptop, funded mobile phone, private medical insurance (including dental and optical) and company pension scheme will also be offered. Expenses including travel costs will be reimbursed through an expenses approval system.
